There are many different sports and leisure activities you can do throughout Birmingham regardless of your disability.

There are lots of leisure centres available throughout Birmingham which hosts swimming sessions, gym, aerobics other classes like Pilates and Tai-Chi. You can find your local leisure centre by checking www.birmingham.gov.uk/leisurecentres

If you’re planning on going to the cinema or theatre or perhaps arranging a visit to a place of interest for the first time, it’s a good idea to make some plans before you go. Places vary in their facilities and what they have to offer disabled people. Make sure you check they are accessible for your needs!

The Equality Act 2010 aims to end discrimination against disabled people. Places including cinemas, theatres and other leisure venues have responsibilities towards disabled people.

Service providers in the public sector - such as museums, libraries, historic buildings and other places of interest - also have duties regarding access to their services.
