It was another fantastic evening for Lisieux Trust at The Great British Care Awards, as we celebrated the incredible dedication and achievements of our staff.

A massive congratulations to Jade Taylor, who proudly took home the Newcomer of the Year Award! Jade, who joined Lisieux Trust just last year, has made a remarkable impact in a short time. Speaking about her love for her role, she said:

“Becoming a support worker has truly been one of the most rewarding decisions I’ve ever made. I wanted a career that would allow me to make a real difference in people’s lives — something meaningful, fulfilling, and full of purpose. Every day brings something new, and I love supporting individuals to live as independently as possible and achieve their goals. Seeing them grow in confidence and happiness is such a heartwarming feeling — it’s something that stays with me long after the day ends.”

Jade’s Manager, Marie Brown, was full of praise for her achievement, saying:

“Jade is caring, compassionate and empathetic. She has a genuinely thoughtful, understanding way of communicating with our residents and they all love her.

“When it comes to her senior role, she is conscientious, consistent and is always striving to do better. For Jade there is no such thing as good enough for our residents — it is always the best, and we are very lucky to have her as part of the team at Lisieux House.”

Jade wasn’t the only one celebrating on the night. The Staff Team at Vesey Road were also highly commended for their exceptional work. As previously reported in August, their dedication has transformed the service — turning around what was in special measures when Lisieux Trust acquired it in 2022, to now being rated ‘Good’ by the CQC.

Their nomination, written by Manager Denise Barrett, praised the team’s incredible effort:

“The staff team worked hard turning around a home that was put into special measures by CQC when managed under another provider. The team have changed the culture, given the residents choice and a voice to express themselves. Well done everyone, you are amazing!”

It was wonderful to see so many familiar faces celebrating together, with members of both the Vesey and Lisieux House teams — along with Senior Management — attending the event.

At last year’s ceremony, Lisieux House, where Jade also works, proudly won Staff Team of the Year, and this year another talented member of our team, Kadi, was shortlisted for an award.

A huge well done to everyone — we’re so proud of all our finalists, winners, and nominees for continuing to show what makes Lisieux Trust such a special place to live and work.
