Christmas Tree Competition Winners Crowned
The Lisieux Trust Christmas Tree Competition brought festive cheer, creativity and friendly competition to homes and services across the Trust this Christmas, with nearly everyone getting involved in the celebrations.
Congratulations go to Lisieux House, who were crowned the victorious house after their homemade, personalised decorations truly wowed the judges. Their tree stood out for its creativity and meaning, with each resident making something that meant the most to them to decorate the tree, reflecting the values at the heart of the Trust and the dedication of everyone involved.
The competition was judged by Interim CEO Susan Hoath, Chair Paul Eeles, and Facilities Administrator Nicola Humpage, whose parents’ business, JPH Transport, kindly sponsored the event. The judges had the difficult task of choosing a winner from a host of impressive entries, as homes across the Trust embraced the festive challenge with enthusiasm.
Susan praised the winning entry, saying: “The Lisieux House tree was wonderful as it really confirmed our person-centred values. You could see the thought, care and individuality that had gone into it, which made it incredibly special.”
While Lisieux House took the top spot, the judges were keen to highlight several other outstanding displays. They were particularly impressed by the work at Francis House, where residents had coloured their own wall decorations, creating a vibrant and personal festive space. Another entry saw tenants and their parents working together to make wooden ornaments outdoors, showcasing collaboration and shared creativity. In supported living services, residents also impressed the judges by first baking and then painting their own decorations, adding a personal touch to their homes.
It was wonderful to see how much healthy competition and fun the Christmas Tree Competition generated throughout the Trust, bringing people together and spreading festive joy.
Pictures from the competition will be shared throughout Christmas Week on our socials, so everyone can enjoy the fantastic displays created across the Lisieux Trust.
