CQC Training Video Screened
“It was a truly special morning at the Trust. We had the privilege of joining the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the screening of a training video that many of our residents and tenants helped create.
Over 20 members of the Trust Family participated in the video, titled ‘You Think You Know Me.’ This video is designed to challenge stereotypes and help CQC staff understand individuals on a deeper level.
The first screening was attended by most of the participants, along with 500 CQC staff and Trust employees. Maura, one of our residents, introduced our section.
The video was both powerful and inspiring, as residents shared their achievements, hopes, and dreams.
After the screening, our CEO, Jess Alsop-Greenacre, addressed the online audience. She expressed her pride in the participants’ accomplishments and the valuable lessons learned throughout the process.
Several viewers commented on the outstanding contributions of individual residents and tenants. Ade’s rap and Steven’s heartfelt testimony about caring for his late mother were particularly mentioned. Mark’s aspiration to become Prime Minister also caught the attention of the CQC staff, who enthusiastically declared their support.
In addition to our contributions, the screening included videos focused on raising awareness about autism and Down’s syndrome, encouraging viewers to reconsider their perspectives and communication styles.”
