Emily’s Healthy Eating Drive
“I want to be healthier,” says Emily as we catch up with her at the start of her diet. It’s a simple aim, but Emily, an always-busy resident who already walks 10,000 steps a day and has received plaudits for her knitting abilities, has now decided to join her family in a fitness drive.
“The whole family is doing it,” she says. “And I already feel better.”
She is grateful for her family’s support, adding, “We’ve been helping each other on WhatsApp, and it’s been really good.”
With the assistance of staff, Emily has been preparing and eating salads (pictured), and she proudly states, “I have already lost weight.”
Emily’s fitness initiative is just one of many across the Trust. One of our houses has even been coached by BeeZee Bodies—a Birmingham Council-funded program that provides a holistic approach to food and fitness.
Due to the success of this and other initiatives throughout the Trust, we are now exploring ways to unify these efforts over the coming months, focusing on diet and fitness across the organisation.
