Emily’s Steps Challenge

04 Mar 2024 | Category: News

Today marks the start of a very special charity challenge for one of our residents.

You all know Emily as our queen of knitting, but her kindness doesn’t just extend to the countless babies in the UK and orphans in Africa that she’s helped and made clothing for over the years. No. there’s even more to this remarkable lady.

This month – starting today  – Emily has vowed to walk 10,000 steps every day in March to raise money for Cancer Research, but with a difference, as Registered Manager Lisa Powell explains: “Emily is going to do 2500 a day, as she felt that 10,000 might be too much, but she was desperate to do it – and knowing her, she’ll do way more!”

The kind-hearted resident has already been practicing and has been regularly getting massive numbers, even before the official start of her drive – as this picture taken on a recent visit to her house shows!

Emily was very clear as to why she wanted to take part, saying: “It’s for my dad, and my mum. I want to help others.”

The Trust has set up a Just Giving Page for Emily, and if you’d like to help her reach her goal, click this link.
