Fond Farewell For Mary
Staff, residents, tenants and families came together to celebrate the retirement of Registered Manager at Francis House, Mary Heap, one of our longest-serving members of staff, after a party marking more than 20 years of dedicated service.
The event brought together Residents, Tenants and their families to thank Mary for the care, commitment and kindness she has shown throughout her career. For many residents and tenants, Mary has been much more than a manager. She has been a familiar face, a steady source of support and a friend who has helped make each day feel welcoming and valued.
There were smiles, memories and even a few tears as guests reflected on Mary’s contribution and wished her well for the future. Residents presented Mary with gifts they had chosen and bought for her, taking it in turns to hand them over as a gesture of thanks for everything she has done.

Speaking to the residents, Mary said: “We’ve had some wonderful times. And some sad times too, but I’ve loved every day coming into work and seeing your faces.”
Her words were met with warmth and appreciation from those gathered, many of whom have known her for years and wanted to make sure her final celebration at work was a special one.
Two residents, Maura and Elizabeth, spoke for the whole group when they said: “Thank you, Mary, you’ve been a great manager and friend to us all.”
