Gardening Club Gets Underway
Wednesday morning now means gardening club at the trust as a brand-new initiative gets underway.
Tenants and management joined forces to make the back garden at Head Office a more welcoming and fun space.
In the sessions, which have been running for the last two weeks, Nick, Jack, Mark, Elizabeth, Maura and Duncan were supported by Registered Manager Hayley Watson, Deputy Manager Gio Bongiovi, Estates Manager Mohammed Jabar Ashan, and Maintenance Administrator Nicola Humpage as the task began – and it is hoped even more will be joining in.
Hayley explained that the aim of the gardening club was: ‘To create a much more fun area for everyone to enjoy’. There is, however, a more serious point as well, with Hayley adding: ‘I really wanted to get as many people as we can involved in a fun activity with an outcome they can all feel part of’.

As part of the charity’s commitment to creating this improved environment, we are asking for your help. We need: bedding plants, established veg such as pumpkins, potatoes, beans and tomatoes, but not just that, Hayley added that we also need “gardening paint, soil, and any equipment you can spare.”
If you are unable to donate but could spare some time to assist, we would love to hear from you.
Our Marketing and Communications Officer Andy Thorley said: ‘We would love to make this a true community garden that everyone connected to the trust can enjoy.’
We will have regular updates on the progress of the Wednesday morning sessions on our social media channels and in our newsletter.
