Gardening Competition Sees Winners Crowned
We are delighted to announce that the winners of the gardening competition were Francis House.
The contest, which saw most of our houses participate, produced some fabulous results, full of color and innovation. In the end, gardener Ian of the Greener Lawn Company judged the efforts of Francis House to be the best of a very good bunch.
“They were brilliant,” he said after handing over the £100 in cash that he’d kindly donated to the excited residents. “There were a few in the running, but in the end, I had to give it to the guys here.”
Francis House’s efforts included colorful planters and shrubs, but also a garden that lit up at night and was completed with decorations on the garden furniture that were made by the residents.

One of them, Katie, said, “It was fun, I enjoyed it.” Another, Mark, said, “I helped Helen by carrying everything.”
The aforementioned Helen, one of our Support Workers, thought it was fantastic for the residents and added, “Everyone worked really hard and the guys got involved.”
The gardening competition will return next year with Ian confirming, “It’s been a great start and credit to all the Trust, but we’re going to do it bigger and better next time.”
The residents were planning what to spend the £100 on at a House Meeting this week.
