Jess And Elizabeth Present at Council Forum
Lisieux Trust was proud to take part in Birmingham City Council’s forum for social care providers supporting people with learning disabilities and autism.
Jess Alsop-Greenacre, CEO of Lisieux Trust, was invited to present at the event, where the focus was on co-production and the importance of ensuring that people who draw on support are fully involved in shaping services.
Jess was joined by Elizabeth, from Francis House, who presented alongside her and shared her own experiences of co-production at Lisieux Trust. Elizabeth spoke about resident meetings at Francis House, as well as her role as a member of the organisational steering group for residents and tenants.
Co-production is central to everything we do at Lisieux Trust. It is not an add-on or a single meeting. It runs through daily life, from resident and tenant meetings, care planning and communication, through to wider organisational work, including steering groups, strategy discussions and feedback to Trustees.
Jess said: “I was thrilled to be invited to present at Birmingham City Council’s forum. Co-production is central to everything we do at Lisieux Trust, from the elements of daily life to the big strategic decisions.
“I am incredibly proud of some of the consultation work our residents and tenants have done with other organisations, including CQC and, more recently, Birmingham’s Public Health Team. It is absolutely vital that people with learning disabilities and autism have their voices and opinions heard by decision makers.”

Elizabeth’s contribution gave attendees a valuable insight into how co-production works in practice, and how residents and tenants are helping to shape the organisation.
Jess added: “Elizabeth has lots of experience presenting and did a fantastic job, as always.”
Lisieux Trust would like to thank Birmingham City Council for the invitation and for creating space for such an important discussion. Ensuring that people are listened to, respected and involved remains at the heart of our work.
