Over the past two weeks, Lisieux Trust was proud to deliver a brand-new opportunity for our residents and tenants. In partnership with Curve Learning, who usually provide our bespoke staff training programme, we trialled a series of courses designed especially for the people we support.

The sessions covered a range of important topics, including Online Safety, Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Sexual Health, and Food Hygiene. This was a landmark moment, as it was the very first time that Curve Learning has delivered training directly to residents and tenants across any of the organisations they work with.

Among those who took part in both sessions were Tom, Elizabeth, and Nick. They shared their thoughts afterwards, saying: “They were brilliant and we learned a lot.” Elizabeth will also be sharing her reflections in the upcoming Trust newsletter.

Curve’s Georgina – a regular visitor to Head Office –  admitted she wasn’t sure what to expect: “This is the most nervous I’ve ever been with courses. I’d rather do a training session 50 Registered Managers! But it went brilliantly and I hope to do it again.”

The sessions, designed with much input from our Management Team, reflected the spirit of Lisieux Trust perfectly. They offered people the choice to take part, encouraged confidence and independence, and created a warm, welcoming environment where everyone could learn together. Most importantly, they showed what can be achieved when trust is built between staff, residents, and partners. The enthusiasm and commitment shown by everyone involved left us all inspired.
