Nick’s Night At The BBC

23 Apr 2024 | Category: News

Move over Gary Neville, we’ve got a new pundit in town – that’s the message from Lisieux Trust as Nick was live on Radio WM Sport earlier this month.

Sports mad Nick – a West Brom Season Ticket Holder and Member at Warwickshire Cricket Club  – was at the Mailbox Studios of BBC Birmingham to appear as a  guest on the Football Phone-in, watching in the studio as Presenter Daz Hale helmed the broadcast, taking in news from Birmingham City, Aston Villa and Walsall – as well as Nick’s beloved Baggies.

Nick also got a tour of the building, seeing where Dr. Who is made and witnessing Midlands Today rehearsals, before having the opportunity to chat with the other participants on the show – former Birmingham City defender Ian Clarkson and BBC WM sports reporter Mike Taylor – before appearing live himself to talk about his own sporting exploits and discuss the fortunes of West Brom – and pressing the iconic Goal Horn used for decades to signify all-important strikes for at grounds across the West Midlands.

Nick is no stranger to the airwaves. He’s appeared on WM before, having carried the baton at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, but he thoroughly enjoyed the experience saying: “It was brilliant to be there and good to give my predictions to Daz. I had a great time, thank you to everybody.”

Everyone at the Trust would like to thank Daz Hale, his Producer Ollie and everyone at BBC Birmingham for their kindness and hospitality.
