Representing Lisieux Trust at the Forward Carers Event By Ade
Last week, I had the chance to attend the Forward Carers event at the ICC in Birmingham β and it was a brilliant experience!
I went along with Alison, our Head of Operations at Lisieux Trust, and Marie, one of our Registered Managers. Together, we represented the organisation and shared a bit about who we are and what we do. We set up our table with leaflets, newsletters, and information about the Trust, and spent the day chatting with people as they passed by.
Some people were really interested in learning more, and others were just having a look β but that was OK. It was nice just to be there, having conversations, telling people about the Trust and the kind of support we offer. I even spoke about my own experience of living at Lisieux Trust for quite a long time, and how itβs helped me. It felt good to be able to share that.

I talked about the age range of people we support, and explained how the Trust focuses on giving people choice, independence, and a real sense of community. I think people appreciated hearing directly from someone who lives it every day.
Alison gave out her work contact details for anyone who wanted to get in touch afterwards, and we all agreed it was a really successful day. It was great to be out in Birmingham, meeting new people, and spreading the word about the amazing work happening at Lisieux Trust.
All in all, it was a good day out β and I felt proud to represent our community alongside Alison and Marie.
