One of our Tenants was delighted to receive an Academic award earlier this month, but in true style she is already targeting her next achievement.

Rosa was given her Independent Living Skills: Work Skills And English Level One award at a ceremony in Birmingham – however, never one to rest on her laurels, she is already looking forward to the new term:

“It was hard – sometimes it was mindblowing!” Rosa laughed, “But I’m proud to have done it, and very pleased with myself.”

Her studies – which have included an IT Course in the past – now take a break over the summer as the Birmingham Adult Education Service is off for its holidays – but she’s already looking forward to September, when the next part of her learning journey will begin.

“I’ll be doing some maths,” confirmed Rosa. “And doing some more to build on what I’ve done this year.”

Rosa is just one of many of our residents and tenants to embark on an academic programme, with many looking to improve their knowledge and skills.

Rosa has also shared her knowledge with the wider Trust and has been instrumental in organising the regular workshops and events that have seen crafts, and Makaton being taught.

Sbe’s already framed the certificate, below.
