Residents Help Shape the Future of the Trust by Welcoming New Trustee Candidates

At Lisieux Trust, we’re committed to ensuring the voices of our residents and tenants are heard at every level of our organisation. That’s why, during our recent round of Trustee interviews, we were proud to involve the people who matter most—those who live within the Trust.

As part of our recruitment process, we invited several residents and tenants to meet the prospective Trustees and share their personal experiences of life at Lisieux. Ade, Tom, Elizabeth, and Mark took part, chatting with the candidates about daily life, the support they receive, and what makes the Trust such a special place to live.

These informal meet-and-greet sessions offered candidates a first-hand insight into the Trust’s person-centred values and inclusive culture. It also gave our residents a chance to be active participants in shaping the future of the organisation—something we believe is vital to good governance and continued growth.

Tom was especially enthusiastic about the experience, saying:
“It was fun to do it and they were all really nice. I love helping at the office.”

This process aligns closely with the ethos behind our current campaign to find new Trustees, as detailed in our recent article, Help Us Shape the Future of the Trust. We’re looking for individuals who not only bring skills and experience, but who also connect with our values and are passionate about making a difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities and autism.

By involving the people we support in the recruitment process, we hope to find Trustees who are not only capable and committed, but also compassionate and aligned with the lived realities of our community.

We’re proud of Ade, Tom, Elizabeth, and Mark for representing the Trust so brilliantly, and we look forward to welcoming new Trustees who have already seen the heart of who we are—thanks to the people who call Lisieux Trust home.
