Trust Residents And Tenants Assist CQC

We’ve been delighted this week to have welcomed the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to the Trust as our Residents and Tenants have partnered with the regulator to help them with a major piece of work designed to break down stereotypes around Learning Disabilities and Autism.

Centered around the theme of “you think you know me, but did you know” our Residents and Tenants shared their remarkable achievements with the CQC.

Almost half of the residents and tenants were involved, starting with a Spring workshop and ending with the two days of filming at Head Office and over various locations across Birmingham, including stables in Great Barr and shops in Boldmere.

The videos will now be used to train the entire CQC, who have said they intend to make an hour-long video involving all the 24 videos that were filmed and discussions between our Senior Management and other leadership teams.

Trust residents, tenants, and staff will be present at the online screening- where they will be able to observe CQC staff watching their contributions.

There will be more on this when the screening happens in the autumn, but the CQC have told us how delighted they were with the contributions from the Trust, which were both inspiring and professional.
