I like World Book Day as it is a reminder of books and stories that I have enjoyed over time. My favourite author is Jacqueline Wilson. I like her books because they are easy to understand and the characters feel familiar and realistic. I especially like the Tracy Beaker stories. I remember watching Tracy Beaker on television as well as reading the books, so it is a story I know quite well. It is interesting to see how the same character appears in both books and on TV.

I do not read a large number of books these days, but I do still like Jacqueline Wilson books when I do read. When I was younger, my mum used to read to me, and one of the stories I remember is The Tiger Who Came to Tea. I have remembered that story for a long time.

World Book Day makes me think about reading in a simple way and the books I have come across in my life. It is also a chance to think about how stories stay with you, even if you do not read all the time now.
